As part of the great Chicago boulevard system - the "Emerald Necklace" built in 1870, Logan Square is still surrounded today by beautiful tree lined streets and historic mansions. While much of the original boulevard system has deteriorated over the past 100 years, Logan Square has remained virtually untouched with its architectural details and beautiful old homes. While looking down the streets, it is easy to envision well-dressed gentlemen and ladies taking a leisurely ride around the boulevard in their horse drawn carriages.
Today, along with the historical ambiance residents enjoy the incredible Illinois Centennial Monument that commemorates the 100th anniversary of the entry of the State of Illinois into the Union. This monument has further enhanced the beauty of the community. With easy access to the Kennedy Expressway, the O'Hare blue-line subway, and downtown Chicago, Logan Square provides the best of both worlds - a historic neighborhood with all the modern conveniences. Residents today find that the strong community influence and the many recreational activities available, make Logan Square a wonderful place to call home.
